The K-Files

Earlier this week I was hanging out with my prayer group, chatting about music, and what songs I should play at my upcoming 90's themed party.

For the past few weeks I have been scouring my CD collection (and my cassettes) to find the perfect mixture of songs that will have everyone in the room going crazy (either because they're excited to hear the song, or because they were happy to have not heard it in 10 years...) and I have to say I'm quite happy with the resulting playlist. At the moment it stands at 163 songs, ranging from 1990-1999, all genres of music imaginable. There's something for everyone!

However, whilst conversing and reminiscing with the lovely RaRa and Baz, what should come out of Katty's mouth but "I hope you're not going to play any of that left-wing-communist-grunge stuff you used to listen to!"

Now, anyone who knows my music taste will understand my disgust at this sentence. It was even worse when I discovered that by "left-wing-communist-grunge" she meant the likes of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Bush, Days of the New, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots...a few of which I will allow certain degrees of 'grunge' status......but have any of you ever categorized Marilyn Manson as communist and grunge?

I don't quite understand.........
